Alex Rodriguez Suspension: A-Rod Vows To Be At New York Yankees Spring Training [VIDEO]

Alex Rodriguez is vowing to be on hand for spring training, despite being hit with a 2014, season-long ban from arbitrator Fredric Horowitz stemming from his involvement in the Biogenesis performing enhancing drugs scandal that continues to rock major league baseball.

According to ESPN, the New York Yankees third baseman remains outraged about the treatment he has received from MLB officials, even though the latest ruling cuts his suspension by 43 games by reducing his punishment to 162 games from the record-setting 211-game ban that was originally doled out.

Rodriguez stands to lose at least $25 million in salary if he doesn't play in 2014. In the wake of Saturday's announcement, he told ESPN he now plans to seek a federal injunction that will allow him to report to spring training along with all his other teammates on Feb. 19.

Beyond that, Rodriguez told ESPN that no matter what legally happens from this point on, he definitely plans to resume his baseball career in 2015, and presumably, for the remainder of his Yankee contract, which runs through 2017.

ESPN notes Rodriguez is still owed at least $61 million on the $275 million record-setting deal he signed with the Bronx Bombers. The website also later added team officials and top brass from the league office are now meeting in hopes of figuring out a way of barring Rodriguez from being able to report for spring workouts.

In the past, Rodriguez has hinted that he may have the idea of suing the Yankees over what he describes as their collusion with Major League Baseball to run him out of the game.
