Tim Tebow News: Mike Tannenbaum Admits Bringing 'Tebowmania' To New York Was Mistake? [VIDEO]

Former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum now says the team's decision to acquire quarterback Tim Tebow was a mistake.

"I think some of the mistakes made were from the bottom end of our roster up," Tannenbaum said Wednesday while appearing on Damon Amendolara CBS Sports Radio Show. "So when you lose guys like Jim Leonhard or Danny Woodhead or Jerricho Cotchery, it affects a lot of things - not just what they do on the field, but what they do in the locker room."

Tannenbaum spent 15 seasons in the Jets organization, serving in such capacities as senior vice president of football operations, assistant general manager and as someone who negotiated player contracts. Through all those experiences, the Tebow experiment still stands out to him.

"Obviously, we made a couple of mistakes, trading for Tim Tebow most notably" Tannenbaum told CBS. "We could have done a better job with the bottom of our roster, especially toward the end."

The last NFL game Tebow played in was as a member of the Jets in 2012, and he is currently out of the league after being cut by Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots the following preseason. Tebow recently joined ESPN as a college football analyst.
