Deron Williams: Jason Kidd Saved Brooklyn Nets Season By Demoting Lawrence Frank? [VIDEO]

Jason Kidd may have saved the Brooklyn Nets season, and maybe his coaching career, with his decision to demote former top assistant Lawrence Frank from his staff.

At least that's what star guard Deron Williams thinks after comparing the early Kidd to the man now leading the Nets on their streak of eight wins in their last nine games. The Nets knocked off the Orlando Magic 101-90 on Tuesday for their third straight win and Kidd is being saluted for the transformation.

"I think Jason is really coming into his own and is getting a feel for it," Williams told BleacherReport.com. "It's just not the fact that Lawrence Frank is not there. I think just Jason has a better understanding of managing the game, managing the team. He's the one voice right now."

Kidd reassigned Frank to a reduced role at the beginning of December amid reports the two were clashing over the direction of the team. Since the sideline shake-up, the Nets have also beaten such top-flight teams as two-time defending champion Miami and Oklahoma City.

Things are so looking up for the Nets, even Williams finally appears to be healthy and finding his groove, scoring a combined 22 points and dishing out 12 assists in his first games back from an ankle injury.
