Hall of Fame Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith insists he's never seen a rusher like Seattle Pro Bowler Marshawn Lynch.
With the Seahawks poised to face Peyton Manning and the Denver Bronco's in Sunday's Super Bowl, Smith told NFL.com the man known as "Beast Mode" is "a tough-nosed back and he's going to take at least more than one man to tackle him."
With back-to-back 100-plus yard outings in the playoffs, Lynch is already being recognized for an ability to raise his performance when the games seem to matter most. In six career playoff appearances, he already owns an NFL record with four touchdowns of 25-plus yards.
"When I look at him running, his running style, I haven't seen anyone out there quite like him. I know Adrian Peterson is a little different, but Marshawn Lynch is a very, very tough running back."
Against New Orleans in their playoff opener, Lynch rushed 28 times for 140 yards, and followed that up with 109 yards on 22 carries against San Francisco in the NFC title game.
"It's pretty cool to be able to block for a back that creates yards like that," Seattle center Max Unger told NFL.com. "When he does that and he's throwing piles, and he's carrying people before he goes down, it just makes you want to do your job that much better."
