Magic Johnson Disses Kobe: Magic's Tweet About Game's Greatest Players Doesn't Include Black Mamba on Purpose? [VIDEO]

Apparently, there's no Magic in Kobe.

According to USA TODAY Sports' For the Win, former Los Angeles Lakers star Earvin "Magic" Johnson caused a stir with a tweet giving props to Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant, who has been on a tear of late that has created early buzz about his Most Valuable Player Candidacy this season.

From @Magic Johnson: "The great ones Michael, Larry, Kareem, LeBron and now Kevin Durant can put their teams on their back and win!"

Does anyone see a glaring omission from the former Lakers star? Anyone?

For the Win reported that Johnson's omission of current Lakers star Kobe Bryant did not sit well with some of his Twitter followers, several of whom included @kobebryant in their response to Magic.

The report stated, "It's hard to argue with any of the names on Magic's list, but he caused a minor Twitter firestorm when he omitted Kobe Bryant. Considering Magic played for the Lakers and used to be a minority owner of the team, he had to know that wouldn't go over well with fans."

Perhaps, Johnson was just excited about the Wednesday night matchup between Durant's Thunder and LeBron James' Miami Heat. Or perhaps it was an innocent oversight.

Magic, however, also could have been sending a message to Bryant, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury and has not carried anyone on his back and win an NBA championship since the 2009-10 NBA season.

Kobe won three titles as the sidekick to Shaquille O'Neal from 2000-2002, and then became the Lakers' ringleader in back-to-back titles in 2009-10. But that was also when the Lakers acquired Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies and had a still budding star in center Andrew Bynum before injuries and his attitude rode him out of the league.

No reports of a Kobe response have surfaced, but the next meeting between the two Laker icons should be an interesting one.
