Kobe Bryant Injury: Lakers Star Disappointed About Missing Three More Weeks [VIDEO]

LA Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant will continue to miss time with his injured knee, and the Lakers legend has expressed disappointment about being sidelined especially with his team slowly sinking into the bottom of the NBA standings.

Speaking with the Los Angeles Times, Bryant admitted his frustrations with his injury that will keep him away from the NBA All-Star Game and more importantly, prevent him from helping his team for the time being.

"[I'm] down about it," Bryant was quoted by the newspaper as saying.

The Lakers' all-time leading scorer said his injury is like an internal swelling. He continued to discuss about the knee injury, saying: "It's different. It's not something that's kind of on the surface where you can pinpoint and feel the swelling around. It's deep in there."

Bryant continues to work out on a stationary bike and he is not exactly pleased with being relegated as a spectator especially with the Lakers sinking to 16-30 which is the second-worst record in the Western Conference.

"I'm ready to throw the bike in the damn pool right about now," he joked. "But you do what you got to do."

The Lakers are perhaps the team that has had the longest injury list this season. Aside from Bryant, guards Steve Nash, Jordan Farmar, Xavier Henry and Steve Blake have missed significant time for the Lakers. Bryant has played in just six contests for the Lakers after rehabbing a torn Achilles tendon for the most part of the summer. He is averaging modest numbers of 13.8 points and 6.3 assists.

Despite calls from various quarters for him to sit out the rest of the season, Bryant has said he'll return to the floor this season. He also told the Times about his plans in rehabbing his knee: "Just trying to be patient, trying to be calm, just trying to take it a day at a time. "I've been through worse. The Achilles was much, much worse ... With the Achilles, I couldn't move at all. With this one, at least I can walk around a little bit, at least I can do the bike, do something active. Just trying to find the positive in it."
