Khloe Kardashian is now convinced her tough love tactics drove NBA husband Lamar Odom away and she ultimately "failed as a wife," according to HollywoodLife.com.
The website adds the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is now beating herself up over the dissolution of her marriage and feels "she was too hard on him."
"She thinks she pushed him away when all she was trying to do was bring him closer when he was at his worst," HollywoodLife reports. "She'll never admit that, but it's so true. It's Khloe. It's her fabric and it's who she is. She really didn't want to leave Lamar but she had to. She had to for her soul."
The 29-year-old Kardashian filed for divorce from her husband of four years on Dec. 13, citing irreconcilable differences. Before then, the website reports she did everything she could to save her marriage such as going to couple's counseling.
Since formally splitting, the couple has sold their California mansion and Kardashian is rumored to be house-hunting for a residence closer to momager Kris Jenner.
The 34-year-old Odom meanwhile has indicated he plans to focus on resuming his NBA career and recently met with L.A. Clippers coach Doc Rivers about perhaps rejoining the team.
