Tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET, the Vancouver Canucks (27-19-9, 63 points) and Winnipeg Jets (25-25-5, 55 points) faceoff live from the MTS Centre for the second of three meetings against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Vancouver fans can hear all of the action on 1040 TEAM while Winnipeg fans can do the same on TSN 1290.
Vancouver begins a five-game road trip and is 4-8-2 thus far in January while Winnipeg is 6-2-0 since Jan. 12 when Paul Maurice took over as head coach. The first time these two teams met, the Canucks defeated the Jets 2-1 in Vancouver on Dec. 22.
The Canucks are coming off of a 5-2 loss against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday after squandering a 2-0 lead.
"It's disappointing being up 2-0 and losing the lead so quickly like that," goaltender Roberto Luongo said per NHL.com. "We have to play 60 minutes against teams like that. For the majority of the game, I thought we played pretty well. But we have a little bit of a lapse and it's game over."
Luongo is 19-13-6 this season with a 2.30 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. He'll likely be opposed by Ondrej Pavelec, who is 16-21-4 with a 2.99 GAA and a .901 save percentage.
The Jets are coming off of a 4-3 loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday and look to avoid losing two games in a row for the first time in three weeks.
"Obviously a hard-working team. They play good defense," defenseman Zach Bogosian said via NHL.com. "When they have guys like the Sedin brothers, you definitely have to be aware. It's going to be a good game. They have a good all-around team.
The Jets have been led by Blake Wheeler (22 goals, 22 assists) and Bryan Little (17 goals, 27 assists) who each have 44 points while Dustin Byfuglien has 12 tallies and 18 helpers for 40 points.
The Canucks two leading scorers are the Sedin twins, as they both have 40 points. Daniel Sedin has 13 goals and 27 assists while Henrik Sedin has nine markers and 31 helpers, though he will be sidelined with a rib injury. Ryan Kesler has lit the lamp 18 times and added 16 assists for 34 points.
The Canucks and Jets go head-to-head when the puck drops tonight at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
