Jerry Seinfeld No Joke: A-Rod, Mark McGwire or Sammy Sosa Should Be Stand-Up Role Models and Speak Out Against Steroids [VIDEO]

Not only does Jerry Seinfeld have a serious side, but it's also a pretty logical one.

According to foxsports.com, the current dean of stand-up comedians and former sitcom star conducted an interview with Fox Sports' Jimmy Traina on "The Buzz" podcast Wednesday, in which some of the interview was focused on baseball.

The 59-year-old Seinfeld was asked about the use of steroids in baseball, when he responded with an answer that would seem to be another logical question:

"Somebody like Mark McGwire or Sammy Sosa or Alex Rodriguez needs to come out and really mount a campaign about how 'this crap ruined my life kids - don't do it' and be out front and be the spokesman. Say I am now going to use what happened to me to help some kid not do it. Why hasn't someone done that?"

The answer to that is probably that none of those players' lives has been ruined. Their reputations, yes, but if they were able to hit as many home runs as they did with the help of performance-enhancing drugs, then the PEDs made them a lot of money.

Seinfeld said he didn't know what to think about A-Rod's current suspension as a result of his involvement with the Biogenesis scandal but did believe that "it seems pretty clear that baseball did some things that were not so kosher" in gathering evidence against Rodriguez.

The Rodriguez conversation centered on whether Rodriguez should retire, and Seinfeld didn't seem to have good advice for him. Seinfeld said exit strategies are a hobby of his but said he ended his show while it was still at the top.

Clearly, Rodriguez is not at the top of his game, but using the Seinfeld strategy, A-Rod may want to see whether he can rebound in 2015 and then retire.
