Dirty Harry Movie Sequel? Clint Eastwood Saves AT&T Golf Tournament Director's Life With Heimlich Maneuver [VIDEO]

The thing that AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am director Steve John had to be telling himself after choking on a piece of cheese Wednesday night was, "Do I feel lucky? Well, do you, punk?"

He was indeed lucky because the part owner of the Pebble Beach Golf Links was there to save his life

The San Jose Mercury News took a report from the Carmel Pine Cone, which stated that 83-year-old actor/director Clint Eastwood was called upon to perform the Heimlich maneuver on the director of the AT&T Golf Tournament at a volunteer dinner.

"A piece of cheese went in my mouth, and suddenly I couldn't breathe," John told the Pine Cone. "It was as bad as it could have been. But Clint came up behind me and he knew exactly what to do. He did the Heimlich maneuver and he lifted me right off the ground."

It was the first time Eastwood, the former mayor of the city of Carmel, Calif., ever performed the maneuver.

"I gave him three good jolts, and that got it out," said Eastwood. "The look on Steve's face was different than when somebody is just coughing or joking around. I looked in his eyes and saw that look of panic people have when they see their life passing before their very eyes. It looked bad."

The report said that as part of the Pebble Beach ownership group, Eastwood helped select John to the position he now holds. John is overseeing the PGA Tour event taking place this week at Pebble Beach.

"Clint saved my life," John said. "He's strong. The cheese popped out, and I was fine."

If the event gives Eastwood an idea about his next movie script, perhaps John won't be as indebted to him.
