Michael Vick still believes he deserves to be starting quarterback [NFL]

Michael Vick is shaping up as one of the most captivating free agents there might be in free agency and as the top-rated quarterback, according to NFL.com.

Just months after losing his starting job with the Philadelphia Eagles, even the 34-year-old Vick's time on the bench is now widely seen as a positive based on the way he handled the change and remained in firm support of his teammates.

Vick has let it be known that he still desires to be and is convinced that he can be a starter. At least one NFL personnel executive is in agreement, telling NFL.com that Vick easily rates as the best of a free agent class that also includes Matt Schaub, Matt Cassel and Mark Sanchez.

"There are too many teams that are in need of an upgrade for him not to be looked at as a starter," the exec told the website. "I could see a team signing him, and developing a young guy. Vick could be a very good bridge starter for two to three years."

Vick almost certainly will be required to compete for and win the starter's job whereevr he lands, but execs insist with his remaining arm strength, speed and savvy the odds are in his favor of getting what he professes to most desire.
