It was heavily rumored for a while that the WWE was bringing in Sting for a WrestleMania XXX encounter with The Undertaker at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, but it has since been reported that the WWE may not be using Sting at the event if and when he signs with the company, however Sting is reportedly still hoping for a match with The Undertaker at the event.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Sting has still not signed a deal with the WWE yet and despite reports of Sting holding up the contract due to ongoing creative negotiations, the report indicates that the WWE is dragging their feet in signing the WCW and TNA icon.

Plans for the WWE to have a Sting and Undertaker match at WrestleMania XXX haven't come to fruition as it seems as though the WWE is in no rush to sign Sting and it was even reported last week that signing Sting was a low priority.

The company will likely sign him and use him as part of WrestleMania 31 next year due to his ties with California and it's possible he may even get inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2015.

The rumors have been that the WWE will have The Undertaker defend his undefeated streak against Brock Lesnar at the big event while Sting likely won't be brought into the company in an on-screen role for WrestleMania season. Sting is said to still be hoping for a match with The Undertaker at the event despite the fact that the WWE isn't likely to have that match.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, since Sting lives in the Dallas area he was willing to go to The Undertaker's gym in Texas to meet with him privately and work on the match over and over again. For the past several years, The Undertaker's WrestleMania opponents have gone to his gym and went through the match over-and-over again, a key reason why the matches have gone so well.

There have been reports that Lesnar, who is in the match because he makes big money for a limited amount of work and has WrestleMania on his limited list of appearances, may not be willing to meet with Undertaker at his gym to go over everything meticulously for several days to get the match worked out. Still, it's likely he'll face 'Taker at the event.

Despite Sting wanting a match with Undertaker and being prepared to sign a contract, it seems the match between 'Taker and Lesnar is nearly set in stone for WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans.
