CM Punk quits WWE [VIDEO]: John Cena comments on situation, 'Don't even know' what's happening

The WWE has remained tight-lipped regarding the fact that CM Punk walked out and apparently quit the company on Jan. 27 before Monday Night RAW, and though the organization hasn't publically acknowledged Punk's absence, John Cena spoke briefly about the situation in a recent promotional appearance.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Cena appeared on Zap2It.com to promote his BodyChange fitness program and said he wasn't sure what was going on with the Punk situation.

"Don't even know," Cena told the website, "There's one dude who knows all the answers to that and that's him."

Punk walked out prior to the episode of RAW that aired the night after the Royal Rumble for disputed reasons, but the WWE hasn't revealed the news publically themselves despite the fact that many media outlets have reported on the ongoing story of Punk not appearing in a WWE ring since walking out just over two weeks ago.

There have been disputed reasons for Punk's departure, with some alleging that Punk's pent up frustration over his place on the card finally drove him to quitting the company while others say it was a head injury at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view that angered "The Best in the World" enough to leave, but it could very well be a mixture of both.

It was reported this week that the backstage consensus on Punk was mixed while some people thought he was just defending himself and others felt he was a baby. It was noted Thursday that virtually no one agreed with the way he handled it, by walking out just hours before a live television taping, but a lot of people did feel bad for him for being so frustrated.

Vince McMahon is reportedly high on Punk and likes him as a person leading to the chairman trying to get him to come back, but there has been no word on such a return or if talks have gone anywhere or even initiated.

The WWE sees Punk as a draw for merchandise, but Wrestlingheadlines.com reported Thursday that they didn't see him as a huge attendance or pay-per-view draw like Cena, even though Punk could be considered the No.2 guy in the company.

Punk was reportedly upset with guys like Batista and The Rock returning for brief stints and headlining WrestleManias while he traveled year round just to be placed in a midcard role. With is contract set to expire in July, Punk was upset with his rumored match against Triple H as it meant he'd never realize his dream of headlining the biggest show of the year and this year's show at WrestleMania XXX.

It's unknown if Punk and the WWE will work things out before April 6, but with the WWE staying tight-lipped there is at least some hope that the company and the superstar will come to terms once again.
