Denver deals suspended Andre Miller to Washington to serve as John Wall's backup [VIDEO]

Andre Miller has finally gotten his wish in the form of a one-way ticket out of Denver.

ESPN is reporting the Nuggets have dealt the disgruntled veteran point guard to Washington as part of a three-team trade that also ships Jan Vesely to the Nuggets and Eric Maynor and two second-round draft picks to Philadelphia.

Looking to solidify their playoff push and land a veteran backup for John Wall, the Wizards strongly coveted Miller, who had fallen out of favor in Denver after recently engaging in an on-court screaming match with rookie coach Brian Shaw.

Miller hasn't played since he was suspended by the team on Jan. 2 in a dispute over playing time and was no longer even traveling with the squad. Over his 16 NBA seasons, the 37-year-old Miller has averaged 14 points and seven assists.

Ideally, coaches also envision Miller being able to serve as a mentor to Wall, who is already having an All-Star season. After a dreadful start, the Wizards have come on strong of late, currently sitting as the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference at 26-28, 21/2 games away from the chance to have homecourt advantage in an opening round playoff series.
