Tim Tebow twitter: NFL vet's bible tweets inspiring followers, sparking web excitement [VIDEO]

Tim Tebow's religion-laced tweets are generating plenty of attention online, as fans and followers salute the out-of-work NFL quarterback as a personal inspiration.

Tebow recently tweeted from the bible verse John 13:34, writing "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another."

According to GiveMeSupport.com, the post immediately sparked countless responses and has now been retweeted at least 2,850 times and favorited by more than 4,300 people.

"Thank you @TimTebow for living a life that magnifies Christ and His love of us," wrote Denny Collins. "Your witness and testimony have reached many." Later fellow follower and admirer James Webb posted :thanks, Tim. Good luck with spreading the word @saved."

The 26-year-old Tebow last played in the NFL in 2012 with Denver. A three-year veteran, his best season came with the Broncos in 2011 when he passed for 1,729 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also rushed for 660 yards and another six scores.

Tebow recently signed on with ESPN as a college football analyst and is expected to be central to the network's launch of a news SEC cable channel later this year. On Super Bowl Sunday, Tebow also starred in a series of T-Mobile cell phone commercials that prove widely popular.
