A Staten Island teen has been charged with threatening New York Knicks and Madison Square Garden owner James Dolan in posts made from his Twitter account.
Johnny Giamella, the 19-year-old son of a cop, is charged with harassment after threatening the life of Dolan, who also owns the New York Rangers and cable TV giant Cablevision, in his social media rants, according to the New York Daily News.
"James Dolan, it's officially time to die," The News reports Giamella tweeted. He later allegedly added the tweet "death to James Dolan." The newspaper adds Giamella also posted pictures of himself holding a gun to the camera and a sharp metal object to his neck.
According to the criminal complaint filed police, The News adds he also later posted a bizarre photo of himself holding a gun over his penis while fully nude.
Reached at the family's home, the newspaper reports Giamella's mother declined to comment.
The postings were first uncovered by Dolan's security chief, who then reported them to local police, according to The News.
It's been a trying season on all fronts for the Knicks, who despite having one of the league's highest payrolls and one of its best players in Carmelo Anthony have struggled to a 21-34 start to the season.
