Richie Incognito, Jonathan Martin bullying scandal: NFL vet insists he's 'misunderstood,' offers apology [VIDEO]

Disgraced NFL veteran Richie Incognito insists he is "misunderstood" and just "wants to play football."

According to TMZ Sports, the exiled former Miami Dolphins defensive linemen is also offering his apology, presumably for his purported role in the bullying and hazing scandal involving former teammate Jonathan Martin.

In the NFL's official report of the locker room culture that led to Martin bolting the team at midseason, investigator Ted Wells found Incognito was largely at fault for the organization's toxic, locker room atmosphere and concluded that Incognito and perhaps even other teammates had relentlessly harassed Martin.

Sorry as he might be, Martin apparently isn't allowing the report or its findings to bring him down too much. TMZ recently spotted the 30-year-old, nine year veteran leaving a Hollywood nightclub with five different women.

Not long before, Incognito was spotted on the nearby Sunset Strip, where he saluted himself for having the wisdom to hire a private driver for the night and advised other patrons not to drink and drive.

Both Martin and Incognito have recently admitted they hope to resume their NFL careers this season, though the Dolphins have strongly hinted neither player is likely to be brought back to their organization.
