Johnny Manziel's experience in the NFL combine is over, but the signal caller made quite the impact on teams that were scouting him as he looks to go high in the upcoming NFL Draft.
According to NFL.com, Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said that Manziel's interview with his team was "very impressive," and that sentiment was reportedly shared by the Oakland Raiders.
SiriusXM reported that Manziel met with the Raiders and owner Mark Davis, who reportedly came away "very impressed" with the young signal caller as well.
The Raiders hold the fifth pick in the upcoming draft and though the team may not be built to win with a rookie quarterback right now and there are some questions to answer about Manziel's playing style and some concern over his maturity, it's possible that they could draft Manziel if he's still there when the fifth pick comes up.
Manziel, who former Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon didn't believe was a good fit for the team, has impressed many teams throughout the combine due to his passion for the game and his easy ability to deal with the media and be in the public eye as a franchise quarterback.
Manziel won the Heisman Trophy in 2012 and followed it up by going 300-for-429 (69.9%) for the Aggies in 2013 for 4,114 yards with 37 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Manziel threw for 7,820 yards with 63 scores and 22 picks over his two seasons with Texas A&M.
The Raiders could use all the help they can get at quarterback after finishing 4-12 for the second straight year in 2013 and in fourth place in the AFC West. The Raiders haven't made the playoffs since 2002.
It remains to be seen where Manziel ends up, but he has left teams impressed with his performance at the combine--including the Raiders.
