Riley Cooper, one-time N-word user, thinks NFL should ban use of the word [VIDEO}

Philadelphia Eagles receiver Riley Cooper is among those calling for an NFL boycott of the use of the N-word and is now expressing his support for a proposed law that would penalize players for their on-field use of it.

Cooper infamously became a household name early in the 2013-14 NFL season after he was captured on video at a Kenny Chesney concert repeatedly using the word and at one point shouting "I will jump that fence and fight every n***** here bro!"

The incident led to him being fined by the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and widely vilified among his many NFL peers. Roughly 70 percent of all NFL players are African American.

"Riley Cooper said that he thinks that the NFL's plan to penalize use of the n-word during games is a good idea," tweeted Philadelphia Inquirer Eagles beat writer Jeff McLane.

League officials began floating a plan this week they plan to further take up with owners where players would be penalized 15-yards for their on-field use of the word and face possible game ejection upon frepeated offenses.
