Its been musical chairs for closing pitcher in the MLB this season. A number of them have lost their jobs already and many more are still being evaluated before the final call is made. Three more closers could get the axe in the coming weeks, but who are they.

Every baseball season, playoff contenders look to upgrade at the July 31 trade deadline. Sometimes it works… sometimes is backfires. On the same day where Miguel Cabrera signed his 10-year $292 million deal, Mike Trout signed an extension of his own with the Angels. Mike Trout will be an Angel for the price of $144.5 million over 6-years.

Johan Santana agreed to a minor league contract on Tuesday. It is reportedly worth three million dollars. The contract includes an invitation to Spring Training. Santana was seen at the Orioles' complex on Monday, posing in uniform with “now” teammate Eduardo Rodriguez.

With draft pick compensation attached to him, it has been tough for Nelson Cruz to find a new home this offseason as the free agent outfielder remains on the market. While the Seattle Mariners have expressed interest in signing him, it seems unlikely they'll pull the trigger on a deal due to the uncertainty over what it would cost the club--which has already spent a lot this offseason.

It was reported Thursday that free agent right-hander Matt Garza and the Milwaukee Brewers came to terms on a four-year $52 million deal, but the claim was later disputed by the team as talks between the two parties are still ongoing and a deal could be struck soon.
