Michael Schumacher U\update: Formula One legend still in “wake-up phase” [VIDEO]

Ten weeks after his tragic skiing accident in France, Formula One legend Michael Schumacher's status remains unchanged as he is still in a wake-up phase from coma according to his spokesperson.

AFP News via Yahoo! News is reporting that Schumacher spokesperson Sabine Kehm confirmed that his client remains in a 'wake up phase'. It was the first update from the Schumacher camp since February 13.

"Michael is still in the wake up phase. The situation has not changed. Any medical information published which is not confirmed by the team of doctors treating Michael or his management has to be considered as not valid," said Kehm in a statement.

Millions of fans around the world have been monitoring closely the condition of the seven-time Formula One champion but a few details have been released to the media by experts caring for him in the University Clinic in Grenoble, France. There were reports that he had pneumonia but was able to beat the lung infection in February, something that was not confirmed nor denied by his camp.

Felipe Massa, his friend and former teammate, was quoted by German tabloid Bild as saying that Schumacher is sleeping and looks normal. Massa also reportedly said that Schumacher can make simple responses using his mouth.

Schumacher hit his head on a rock during a skiing vacation at the resort of Meribel on December 29. He was on a holiday with his son and some friends. He was put into an induced coma and subjected to surgery to lessen bruising and bleeding.
