It is official Merril Hoge week at ESPN as the analyst is making his round stirring up controversy every where he goes. After declaring Johnny Manziel would be a bust, Hoge now said he would prefer to have Michael Sam to Jadeveon Clowney and prefers Khalil Mack most.

Like last week, Hoge is no stranger to controversy and of course it was ESPN’s First Take that “broke” the story of Hode only to retract the statement later. The First Take twitter page had in quotes, "I would take @MikeSamFootball over @clownejd." - @merrilhoge,” including a picture that can no longer be seen. It seems Skip Bayless can get his hands on the show’s personal Twitter handle because later Hoge declared he said no such thing.
Merril Hoge Says Johnny Manziel "Bust Written All Over Him"
Let me clear something up right now I never said I would draft Sam over Clowney! I said I would pass on Clowney for Khlil Mack @espn

Whatever Hoge said it isn't out of the realm of possibility he worded it wrong and the gossip machine that is First Take made a nonissue into a full blown controversy. Hoge prefers Mack to Clowney and that is all there is to it.
