NFL news: Wife of Hall of Famer Cris Carter allegedly involved in brawl over tennis call

A brawl between two women at a country club? Over a tennis match?

According to the Sun Sentinel, the wife of NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter said she was head-butted by another woman during an argument over a line call in a tennis match on Monday and an incident report has been filed with the Boca Raton Police Department.

However, the other woman claims she is actually the victim and was struck first.

Melanie Carter, the wife of the former Vikings star, was allegedly playing a doubles tennis match at the Seasons of Boca Raton, which is a high-end gated community.

One of the women on the opposing team asked for a line judge to clear up a disputed call, but Carter didn't agree. When the judge called to play the point again, the two allegedly moved toward each other and started arguing.

Carter told police that the judge, Kimberly Ann Fox, said something like, "hit me" and then head-butted her before the two ended up fighting on the ground, according to the Sun Sentinel.

Witnesses broke up the scuffle after a few seconds, and Fox denies head-butting Carter. No one was arrested, police told the Sun Sentinel.
