When Anderson Silva steps into the Octagon on January 31 for his UFC 183 showdown versus Nick Diaz, he'll have a few new tricks up his sleeve.

That's because Silva has recently been sparring in Vegas with fellow MMA legend Jon "Bones" Jones, and "The Spider" credited Jones with improving his training and overall repertoire. Silva gave a press conference in Rio de Janiero recently where he discussed his personal and working relationship with Jones.
"I have a good relationship with him, we’re friends for a long time, since he started his career, but we never had the chance to train together before," Silva said, per MMAFighting.com. "We were both in Las Vegas and it happened.
"It was a normal training, he did a few things, and I did a few things. It was a tough training for both of us. We learned a lot. He taught me a few things I didn’t know, I gave him a few tips. I like him a lot, and it was cool."

Silva clearly considers "Bones" his equal, and spoke of his career resume with a lot of respect.
"He has his history...He’s young and has everything to become the biggest name of the sport in his country," Silva said.
Jones is five wins away from Silva's own UFC record of 16 straight wins inside the Octagon. He'll try and cut that deficit to four on January 3, in UFC 182 versus Daniel Cormier.
