Serena Williams Drama: French Open Champ Doesn't Show Illness After Victory? [VIDEO]

Serena Williams is a quick healer.

After undergoing a self-described, 48-hour nightmare in the days leading to the French Open finals, Serena Williams certainly made up for feeling under the weather over the next 24 hours.

Serena Williams developing reputation for continually getting sick during Grand Slams?

The No. 1 player in the world posed at the Bir-Hakeim bridge with the Eiffel Tower in the Background on Sunday, posing with the French Open trophy, justjared.com reported, showing photos of the now-20-time Grand Slam champion.

Williams, who has a 32-1 record so far this season, said she didn't think she was going to beat Timea Bacsinszky in the semifinals because she was feeling so poorly. She won that match in three sets, then missed her practice session Friday and was in bed all day.

Did Serena Williams show lack of sportsmanship vs. Victoria Azarenka at the French Open?

"I even told the physio [Friday night], 'I'm not sure I'm going to be able to play because this is just not looking good,' '' she said after defeating Lucie Safarova in the finals, according to ESPNW. "I actually was really bad last night.

"Usually you get sick or have a common cold. When you have the flu your whole body aches. That's kind of what I have been dealing with,'' she said. "Even now I just really don't have any energy and I just want to go to bed."

But she didn't. Instead, she took some playful photos with the trophy after reaching the 20 milestone, just two shy of Steffi Graf's all-time record. And then on Sunday, she was out taking photos with the trophy.

Just how sick Williams has been is debatable, USA TODAY's For the Win speculates.

"There's one rule that carries from sport to sport: Either you're healthy enough to play or you're too injured or sick to not. If it's the latter, that's a shame and part of the bad luck of sport. If it's the former, then you go out, compete and don't use your ailment as an excuse for your play," For the Win stated before her finals match.

"Serena Williams is sick. There's no doubt about that. She says she's sick, she looks like she's sick and, in her last match, she played like she was sick. Given her track record with the media before, the full degree of her illness isn't really known - the truth is often elusive in Camp Serena - but she says she stayed in bed all day on Friday and there's no reason not to believe her. Her camp said she might not make the final. There's more reason to doubt that, but you can make your own assumptions."

Of course, she did make the final and did add to her legacy, with her illness seemingly far behind.
