Manchester City Transfer News: Raheem Sterling Offered £40 Million, Paul Pogba Update and More

After finishing the 2014-15 campaign trophyless, Manchester City turn to the transfer window to bolster their title hopes. Typical of most big-spending clubs, the Citizens have been linked with a wide variety of players including Raheem Sterling, Paul Pogba and Kevin De Bruyne.

Below is all the latest transfer gossip and updates surrounding the club.

Raheem Sterling

According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester City have made two bids for Raheem Sterling, the second of which amounted to £40 million. Per the report, the offer breaks down to a £35 million transfer fee plus £5 million in add-ons.

Liverpool, however, refuse to budge on his £50 million valuation.

Paul Pogba

Less optimistic are the rumors surrounding Paul Pogba. According to Manchester Evening News, Juventus have told Barcelona that they will not sell the French international until 2016. Barcelona went as far as offering the Old Lady €80 million, which was promptly denied by Beppe Marotta.

"We have received an offer of €80 million," Marotta. "But we are not selling Pogba."

Per the reports, negotiations still continue. Club officials from both sides were seen in a Milan restaurant on Tuesday.

Kevin de Bruyne

After a successful spell at VfL Wolfsburg, Kevin de Bruyne has found himself on City's radar, per Manchester Evening News. The Belgian playmaker—valued at £40 million—is set for talks with Wolfsburg to resolve his future.

The club remains adamant that he will remain, but the 24-year-old is a clear alternative for Manuel Pellegrini should he fail to acquire Sterling.

De Bruyne made 34 league appearances for Wolfsburg last season, finishing with 10 goals and 20 assists.
