Joe Flacco: Ray Lewis Motivational Speeches [VIDEO] Never Made Sense

More often than not, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco says former teammate Ray Lewis' legendary pep talks didn't make any sense.

"I love Ray and I love how we always spoke from the heart, but if you listened to those speeches, a lot of them didn't even make sense," he told ESPN. "He meant everything he was saying, but I didn't know what he was talking about 90 percent of the time."

Lewis' speeches are largely credited with sparking the Ravens to new heights, such as the team's 2013 Super Bowl win in his final season.

After 17 seasons, Lewis announced his retirement last year. Over that time, he was named to 13 Pro Bowls and named an Associated Press All-Pro 10 times. In addition, he was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year twice (2000 and 2003), making him just the sixth player in league history to win the award multiple times.

In 2000, Lewis also became just the second linebacker in history to be named Super Bowl MVP and the first to win the award on the winning team.

Lewis recently signed with ESPN to as a football analyst.
