The Patriots' game against the Colts on Sunday rekindled the Deflategate controversy all last week, with Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana saying he thinks Tom Brady cheated.
Which Montana meant as the highest compliment.
Joe Montana Calls On Tom Brady To Confess Role In Deflategate
Montana said that cheating always has been part of the games as players and teams have always searched for ways to create an edge over opposing players and teams, according to Pro Football Talk.
"They always say, 'If you ain't cheating you ain't trying.' So they're trying hard," Montana said, laughing (watch the interview here).

In June, Montana called on Brady to confess his involvement, saying a quarterback knows when a football is underinflated or overinflated. But also said that Deflategate was not a big deal and that had he been smart enough to consider whether using an underinflated football would've given him or his 49ers an advantage, he would've done it.
Montana reiterated his sentiment that all teams will look to figure out ways to circumvent the rule book if it gives them an advantage.
"You know, everybody does everything they can to possibly get a little bit of an edge. I mean, back then it wasn't illegal but it was illegal, like our guys used to spray -- and everybody did it at the time -- silicone on their jerseys, the linemen, so that the defensive linemen couldn't get a hold of them. And the defensive linemen did it so the offensive linemen couldn't hold them," Montana said. "It's a game. Everybody wants to win, so you do whatever you can to make it happen."
Brady made it happen Sunday night, without any reports of cheating, as the Patriots beat the Colts 34-27.
