Nick Young Lakers Star Rape Case News Update: Asks Judge To Dismiss Rape Suit, Claims DNA Does Not Match His [VIDEO]

NBA guard Nick Young has asked a Los Angeles county court judge to dismiss a suit charging him with rape because the DNA found at the alleged crime scene does not match his, according to TMZ.

Young, who signed with his hometown Lakers this summer after spending last season in Philadelphia, is being sued by a woman who alleges he drugged and sexually assaulted her after they met at Crown Bar in West Hollywood earlier this year.

According to TMZ, after an initial investigation, police declined to file criminal charges against Young, citing a glaring number of inconsistencies in the alleged victim's story, which included allegations that Young slipped her a date rape drug after she agreed to go on a date with him that ended up with the two back at his apartment.

The website also reports that before even contacting police the woman was considering a lawsuit and that even before then she directly contacted Young, giving him the choice to either pay up or be sued and vilified.

Since that time, the LAPD has publicly chastised the woman for "attempting to extort money" from the NBA veteran.

In her suit, which seeks unspecified damages, the woman claims she continues to undergo psychiatric evaluations related to her ordeal involving Young.
