Everybody were left stunned, and some were enraged, when Lonzo Ball's father told the public that he is better than the two-time reigning MVP Stephen Curry. Well, LaVar Ball isn't done yet.
If he thinks that his son is better than the best basketball player in the planet today the flamboyant dad of three basketball prospects in the country just told USA Today, without remorse, that Michael Jordan will eat his dust if they play one-on-one. Yes, he is talking about His Airness himself.
During his interview with USA Today's Josh Peter in their home in Chino Hills, California, he detailed and even gave some imagery of how he would have beaten the best basketball player in history.
"Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one,'' Ball said. "I would just back in and lift him off the ground and call a foul every time he fouls me when I do a jump hook to the right or the left."
The 49-year old Ball even told that the hall of famer isn't fast enough. "He cannot stop me one-on-one. He better make every shot 'cause he can't go around me. He's not fast enough. And he can only make so many shots outside before I make every bucket under the rim," he added.
Supported by reports from Bleacher Report, He even elaborated that Jordan can easily make buckets if the game is a 5-on-5 but insisted that he can also make some damage on his own. He is very confident that his 6-foot-6 270-pound frame will make it hard for the star of the 1992 US Dream Team to handle.
If you are wondering what are the numbers that the older Ball had in comparison to the GOAT, the same article from USA Today published that he averaged 2.2 points and 2.3 boards playing for the Washington State in 1987-1988 season before moving to Cal-State Los Angeles. On that same season, ESPN stats had Jordan, who is in his 4th season in the NBA, averaging 35 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 3.2 steals and 1.6 blocks in his 82 games in the regular season.
Judging by his sons' performance and how they took the country by storm, Ball is open to major sports apparel attempting to sign his sons for a marketing deal. Adidas, Nike and Under Armour, however, will need to dig down deeper into their pockets as the outspoken dad set the amount to a billion dollars.
"A billion dollars, it has to be there," exclaimed the 49-year old Ball."That's our number, a billion, straight out of the gate. And you don't even have to give it to me all up front. Give us $100 mil over 10 years."
They also have their own clothing brand, Big Baller Brands. He is always seen wearing them most of the time. It sells a variety of shirts and other sports items.
