Dallas Mavericks player Luka Doncic has pledged to support the victims and families affected by the recent school shooting in Belgrade through his charitable foundation.
According to a spokesperson for the Luka Doncic Foundation, Doncic will pay for the funeral services of the eight children and one security guard killed at a Belgrade elementary school.
He will also provide funding for grief counseling and support for classmates and staff affected by the tragedy.

Doncic has strong family ties to the region, with several family members living in the Belgrade capital area, and he is fluent in both Serbian and Slovenian languages.
The tragedy, which saw a 13-year-old student gun down nine victims and injure seven more, had left Doncic heartbroken, as he expressed through his Instagram story and social media accounts.
Through his foundation, Doncic plans to explore immediate and long-term ways to support those affected by the shooting, and he hopes to involve other NBA players with Balkan roots to help.
Doncic has developed close relationships with other Balkan NBA players, including two-time MVP Nikola Jokic.
The Luka Doncic Foundation focuses on improving the health and well-being of children through play.
In recent years, Doncic has sponsored holiday gifts and activities for children in hospitals in Dallas and Slovenia, rebuilt basketball courts in Ljubljana, and donated money to help children facing significant medical costs.
