The latest reports surrounding CM Punk leaving the WWE abruptly before Monday's episode of RAW indicate that despite many people in the media suspecting the events that unfolded to be a work, it is in fact real and Punk is really done with the company barring them being able to work something out in the future.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, CM Punk's status with the company is not an elaborate storyline that will come to a head with the rumored Triple H vs. CM Punk match at WrestleMania but if Punk and the WWE eventually come to terms, it could eventually be used as a storyline.
Punk was upset about part-time wrestlers coming back and hogging the spotlight and he was also upset about his rumored match with Triple H at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans since it's been his dream to main event at the show.
It appears as though Triple H will now take on Daniel Bryan since Punk doesn't seem to factor into the plans now that he left the WWE. Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that at last night's WWE NXT tapings at Full Sail University, the crowd kept chanting for "CM Punk" throughout the night, and Triple H didn't appear on the show in front of the rowdy crowd. WWE was even confiscating 'CM Punk' signs at the event.
Punk was supposed to continue his feud with Kane into a one-one-one match at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in February and then bridge it into a match with Triple H at WrestleMania XXX, but with Punk walking out the WWE is no longer planning on going that route and reportedly even asked Madison Square Garden to remove the advertised CM Punk vs. Kane match from their scheduled live event on March 8.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show Thursday night and said that he believed Punk would be back with the company with the help of Vince McMahon or for the money, while Punk admitted at a Comic Con event last weekend that he had enough money and was ready to leave when his contract expired come this July. It was reported that a lot of people backstage believed Punk would be done with the company once his deal ran out.
While many suspect Punk's quitting to be a storyline and a work, it appears as though unless a new deal is reached, Punk is gone from the company.
