Chivas Guadalajara Transfer News: Oribe Peralta's €5 Million Transfer To Chivas Done? [VIDEO]

Chivas Guadalajara are no longer participating in the Liga MX Clausura tournament, but that hasn't kept the club from making headline news.

While the search for a new head coach continues, so too does the search for reinforcements. One has reportedly already landed, with Goal reporting that Santos Laguna striker Oribe Peralta has accepted an offer to join the crisis-ridden side. The transfer is said to be in excess of €5 million.

The 30-year-old Mexican international experienced a stellar 2014 campaign. In 18 appearances this season, Peralta put 29 shots on target en route to an eight-goal, six-assist performance. He would serve as an immediate upgrade for a club that finished the Clausura tournament with a feeble 13 goals.

Only the Tigres of UANL could match Guadalajara's impotence.

Peralta's impending transfer is coming off the strength of an interview from owner Jorge Vergara in which he proclaimed there would be an overhaul this summer. As many as six new talents are said to be en route to the Estadio Omnilife in the 2014 Apertura (h/t to ESPN Deportes). "We have a list of 25 players and we want to select six of them," Vergara said.

"It's an interesting mix of young players and players with experience," he added.

"I'm not worried. I'm busy. We're seeing who we should bring in, so we can reinvent ourselves and do what we have to do to be the team we once were and the team we should be."

No player would be more impactful and aid Vergara's cause than Oribe "El Cepillo" Peralta.
