BallerAlert.com is reporting the Indiana Pacers ongoing implosion could stem from rumors star forward Paul George may have slept with All-Star center Roy Hibbert's fiancee.
After blazing through the first half of the season, the Pacers struggled to a 13-13 finish and were forced to go seven games against the undermanned Atlanta Hawks in the first round of last week's Eastern Conference playoffs.
Named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team, the difference in Hibbert's early season play and now has been night and day. Over the last month, including the Pacers first eight playoff games, Hibbert has now posted three games of zero points and sero rebounds.
In recent weeks, the 27-year-old, five-year veteran has also referred to his teammates as "some selfish dudes. I'm tired of talking about it. We've been talking about it for a month."
After Monday night's 102-96 Game 1 loss to the Wizards, ESPN reports a "fuming" David West confronted Hibbert about his prolonged slump. The veteran forward later told reporters he plans to "keep encouraging" Hibbert to be "a part of the fight."
For George the road has almost been just as bumpy, though most of his troubles have stemmed from off-court incidents. Just this a week, a Miami stripper gave birth to the 24-year-old all-star's first child recently rumors persisted that he had been "catfished" after a series of revealing photos of him were circulated on the web.
