WWE News [VIDEO]: Update On WWE's Plans For The Shield, Other Top Heels and Babyfaces

Over the last few weeks and months, it was reported that The Shield would eventually breakup and they'd all go their own ways while it has also been reported that Sheamus was expected to turn heel, however the WWE has seemingly changed its plans.

Expected Plans For WWE Payback 2014

The Shield debuted as a heel trio and now have aligned themselves as three of the top babyfaces in the company, and it doesn't appear as though the WWE is messing with that momentum anytime soon. The WWE had plans to split them up and push Roman Reigns as a top babyface, however the company has now decided that they won't be breaking up the triad anytime soon.

While they may remain a trio, Roman Reigns could still have his rumored singles match with Triple H at SummerSlam in August.

Shawn Michaels Reveals Backstage Details On The Undertaker Losing The Streak

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that the WWE is looking at the top four single babyfaces down the line to be John Cena, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan, Cesaro and Sheamus. Cesaro is currently a heel and a bit of a tweener with Paul Heyman, but WWE sees him being one of the top good guys once his storyline with Heyman is through.

Sheamus won the WWE United States Championship and it was reported that the WWE was set to push him as a heel after their tour through Europe from May 14 through 25, however it appears as though the plans have changed and the WWE now wants to keep him a face and one of the upper-tier faces in the company.

The top heels will likely remain Evolution, Kane and Bray Wyatt as Wyatt continues to feud with Cena and Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista and The Authority are mixed up with Daniel Bryan and The Shield. Batista is slated to take some time off after WWE Payback.

While anything can change within the WWE's plans, going forward the top faces are expected to be Cena, Bryan, Cesaro and Sheamus.
