WWE Payback 2014 Rumors [VIDEO]: Updated Matches, Daniel Bryan Off Card Due To Neck Injury?

With the WWE Payback pay-per-view just under three weeks away live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, the WWE has started to build up the card by announcing matches while WWE World Heavyweight Champion won't appear on the card due to his neck injury.

The WWE revealed on Monday Night RAW that Evolution (Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista) will do battle with The Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose) in a six-man tag team rematch from Extreme Rules. There was talk of doing three one-on-one matches between the members of each faction, but the WWE opted to go with the rematch.

John Cena was also challenged by Bray Wyatt to a match for the third consecutive pay-per-view in a match that will be contested under Last Man Standing rules. Cena defeated Wyatt in a singles match at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 before Wyatt got revenge by winning a Steel Cage match at Extreme Rules on May 4. Cena is expected to accept the challenge on SmackDown.

The WWE was reportedly planning on doing a Kane vs. Daniel Bryan Buried Alive match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but Wrestlingheadlines.com reported that Bryan is out with a neck injury and will be undergoing surgery on Thursday that will sideline him for one or two months.

The report indicates that there is no word on whether or not Bryan will be stripped of the belt due to his injury sidelining him, however the WWE may decide to keep the belt on him if the one or two month timetable holds true.

While only two matches have been talked about on WWE television for Payback, there are plenty of rumored matches for the show, including Cesaro vs. Rob Van Dam and Jack Swagger vs. Adam Rose, who is slated to make his in-ring debut at the show.

WWE Payback airs live on June 1 from the Allstate Arena in Chicago.
