The New York Knicks are under the impression that "All You Need Is Love."

The New York Daily News is reporting that the Knicks and team president Phil Jackson are expected to explore a trade that would bring Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Kevin Love to the Big Apple.

"He wants to go to a big market and play in a winning situation," a league source told the Daily News on Sunday. "Of course he is interested in the Knicks."

Love is a three-time All-Star who has spent all six of his seasons with the Timberwolves after playing one year of college basketball at UCLA. The Daily News reported that Love maintains an offseason residence in Manhattan.

The Daily News added that representatives for Love reiterated earlier this week that the Timberwolves that the power forward who averaged a career-high 26.1 points per game in 2013-14 will not re-sign with the team and will leave the organization when he becomes a free agent in 2015.

The Wolves knew of Love's intentions last season but had no plans of trying to trade their star player. He has not made the postseason in his six years with Minnesota.

The T-Wolves, however, have realized that they must trade Love to get value in return, rather than watch him leave in 2015 without any compensation in return, the Daily News reported. Other teams interested in Love include the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns.

One potential problem for the Knicks may be coming up with the right package to entice the Timberwolves to trade the 25-year-old Love. The Daily News reported that Minnesota wants a high draft pick and a proven veteran or two.

The Knicks also are waiting on Carmelo Anthony's own decision to test the free-agent market on July 1, which could complicate their pursuit of Love - whether Anthony stays or goes.
