Donald Sterling News Update: Magic Johnson Jokes Clippers Owner Made Him Consider New Line of Work [VIDEO]

Speaking before a National Restaurant Association Show, Magic Johnson joked over the weekend that he might soon be looking for a new line of work following the recent Donald Sterling debacle.

"These last two weeks, I don't know," ESPN reports Johnson told the audience. "I thought I should go back to the food service industry because these last two weeks have been unbelievable. But I'm glad to be here and even with that said, I still have a big smile on my face."

The NBA Hall of Famer was directly mentioned in one of Sterling's racist rants recently made public where he admonished an old girlfriend "not to bring black people to my games."

The acts resulted in Sterling being banned for life by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver as well as the issuance of a league maximum $2.5 million fine.

"Man, I didn't know that taking a picture with someone would mean ." Johnson said of the photo he took with Sterling girlfriend V. Stivano that seemingly sparked his tirade. "I'm not going to stop taking pictures, so I just hope it doesn't happen anymore. But there's no room in our society for racism."

The league is now rumored to be trying to force the 81-year-old Sterling into selling his team. Besides Johnson such celebrities as Oprah Winfrey, Sean "Diddy" Combs and David Geffen have all emerged as potential buyers of the franchise.
