Boston Celtics Draft Rumors: Kevin Love Trade Involving No. 6 Pick In Play? [VIDEO]

The Boston Celtics can’t be satisfied with the sixth overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft, but they could have enough to turn the pick into Kevin Love. Can general manager Danny Ainge work his magic and turn disappointment into excitement as the draft gets closer?

The Celtics have a plethora of options at the number six pick, but what will they do to get the fan base excited. Many believe the pick will come down to Julius Randle, Marcus Smart or even Dante Exum all of which would be welcome addictions to a team looking to get back into the playoffs. However all of these prospects suffer due to the fact that none of them make the Celtics a team to fear right now. Enter Kevin Love.

The Celtics have the ammo to make a push for Love, but the Timberwolves have said they do not plan on moving Love in the near future. Love has said that he will be testing the free agent market when his contract is up after the 2014-2015 season and you can bet that was a polite way of telling Minnesota he is gone. The longer a team waits, the less they can demand in trade so this is the opportune time for the Timberwolves to act.

Courtesy of the ESPN NBA trade machine, a trade that works for both sides that includes Love does exist. The Celtics would deal the number six pick, Brandon Bass, Jared Sullinger and Kris Humphries to Minnesota and in return would receive Kevin Love and Shabazz Muhammad. Look for the Celtics to be one of many teams aggressively pursuing Love before and during the NBA draft.
