New England Patriots News: Tom Brady Feels 'Better Than When I Was 25,' Doesn't Fear Jimmy Garoppolo [VIDEO]

New England Patriots Hall of Fame bound quarterback Tom Brady is insisting he still feels like a man almost half his age.

"You know, you don't have to suck when you get older," Brady recently told Sports Illustrated. "It's hard to explain this to people, but the commitment I make, in terms of keeping my body in shape and my nutrition right, should make me healthy. I feel better today than when I was 25, and I know that's hard for people to believe, but I do. I work at it. Basically, I work all offseason to prepare my body to not get hurt. I can't help the team if I'm on the sidelines. I've got to be durable."

Tom Brady didn't watch Super Bowl?

And that, in turn, assures Brady's Patriots of being formidable year after year. Though it's now been nearly a decade since Brady and coach Bill Belichick combined to actually win their last Super Bowl, few can point a finger at Brady.

According to SI, since returning from knee surgery at 32 in 2009, Brady has started in 89 straight games for the Patriots, averaging more than 4,600 passing yards per season and 32 touchdown passes.

The Patriots used a second-round pick in this year's NFL draft to select Eastern Illinois quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, but Brady insists he even saw that coming.

"I had a pretty good idea we'd take a quarterback," he told SI. "Coach Belichick doesn't care who the quarterback is here. He's always going to play the guy who he thinks gives him the best chance to win"

And that has and continues to be Tom Brady.
