The Los Angeles Lakers head coaching job remains vacant and as the rumors of Byron Scott and Mike Dunleavy run their course, former Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins has thrown his hat into the ring.
Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports reports that Hollins is interested in the Laker job and Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Lakers plan to set up a face to face meeting in the near future.

The Lakers have already interviewed Byron Scott for the coaching vacancy and he has spoken publicly about the changes he will make if he is given the job. Hollins, on the other hand, took the Memphis Grizzlies to the Western Conference Finals and could be the stop gate coach the Lakers need at the moment as they start a long rebuild process.
Other than Scott and Hollins, the Lakers are rumored to be interested in Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, but Thibodeau believed to only be interested in staying in Chicago or getting his “dream job” with the Knicks. The Lakers' head coaching search should last longer than their previous searches considering they are currently paying former coaches Mike Brown and Mike D'Antoni for early termination of their contracts.
The next man the Lakers tab as head coach needs to be someone they can see manning the bench in Staple Center for the long haul.
