So money really can't buy you love? A new E-poll market research study finds that disgraced multi-millionaire L. A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling is the "most hated man in America."

According to ESPN, the company found that of all those conceding they had some knowledge of the NBA's longest tenured owner, 92 percent said they disliked him. The 81-year-old Sterling skewed even lower among younger pollsters, with 97 percent of males between the ages of 13 and 24 declaring they disliked him.

ESPN adds Sterling's off -the-charts unpopularity is even lower than that of Ponzi scheme con-artist  Bernie Madoff (90 percent) and O.J. Simpson (88 percent).

"Donald Sterling made these callous statements and then he has more than doubled down on them since then," E-Poll CEO Gerry Philpott told ESPN, adding 1,100 people participated in the survey.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced earlier this month the league was imposing a lifetime ban on the man who has owned the Clippers since 1981 after a video of him admonishing a girlfriend "not to bring blacks to my games" was made public. Sterling was also fined a league maximum $2.5 million.

After initially vowing to fight to the "bloody end" to retain his team, Sterling announced this week he plans to submit to the league's wishes and will now sell the franchise.

Sterling purchased the Clippers in 1981 for $12.5 million, but the team is now expected to sell for in excess of $1 billion.
