Andy Murray Coach: Murray Close To Naming Woman as Next Coach? [VIDEO]

Andy Murray may or may not have executed a brilliant marketing ploy during his French Open run.

John McEnroe-Andy Murray union a possibility?

While the No. 7 seed advanced to the third round at Roland Garros on Thursday with a 6-3, 6-1, 6-3 victory over Australian Marinko Matosevic, Murray's post-match news conference went from questions about the match itself to questions about his next coach.

Ivan Lendl quit as Murray's coach in March.

Reuters reported Thursday that Frenchwoman Amelie Mauresmo became the latest named liked to the job. That makes two women who have been reported to be in connection with the Scottish player who won the 2012 U.S. Open and the 2013 Wimbledon championship.

Murray said prior to the French Open that he was hopeful of making an announcement as soon as the tournament ended and did not waver from that stance on Thursday.

Andy Murray asks for suggestions on Twitter on whom he should hire as his next coach

"To be honest, ever since I stopped working with Ivan, there has been a lot of different names that people mentioned," Murray said during his post-match news conference, as reported by Reuters. "Obviously Amelie this week. There was (Mats) Wilander. There has been (Jonas) Bjorkman, John McEnroe, (Martina) Navratilova, Leon Smith, who is the (British) Davis Cup captain, Bob Brett.

"There have been a lot of people that people have talked about. I just kind of put up with it. When the time is right I will make an announcement. But nothing to say just yet.

"Right now in the middle of a tournament is not really the time when I'm sitting down and speaking to people and making phone calls. That doesn't happen in the middle of a grand slam."

While the coaching question continue to make Murray a hot topic during the French Open, just imagine the interest he'll generate if it is Mauresmo or Navratilova whom he hires.
