WWE Rumors and News: Roman Reigns Injured At Payback? Shield Member May Have Torn Triceps [VIDEO]

There is speculation coming out of Sunday night's WWE Payback pay-per-view at the Allstate Arena in Illinois that Shield member Roman Reigns may have torn his triceps at some point during the No Holds Barred six-man elimination tag team match between the Hounds of Justice and Evolution.

WWE Monday Night RAW Spoilers and Preview

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Reigns said on the Payback post-show on the WWE Network that he hurt himself during the main event match, though it wasn't certain if that was a storyline or if Reigns was reporting the truth initially.

New reports indicate that one fan outside of the Allstate Arena who was waiting to take photos of Reigns and other WWE Superstars noted that Reigns appeared to be in significant pain when he was leaving the building Sunday night, meaning that the injury could be legitimate.

CM Punk Attends Kings/Blackhawks Game 7, Misses Payback

While it may not actually be torn, it is probable that Reigns at the very least injured his triceps in some capacity at Payback as he, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins battled Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista in a physical and brutal match.

Reigns has been billed as the rising star out of the trio and will inevitably be pushed once The Shield eventually evaporates and dismantles into singles stars. There were rumors that Reigns would battle Triple H in a high-profile one-on-one match at SummerSlam on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The Shield defeated Evolution for the second straight pay-per-view and it is unknown what the WWE's plans for the storyline are following Payback. If Reigns is hurt and needs to miss time, it could cause the company to lose a lot of the positive momentum it was building off of the feud between Evolution and The Shield in regards to Reign's future push as a singles star.
