Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is having himself an offseason to forget as he was reportedly detained by security after allegedly assaulting DJ Mustard Sunday night. Lynch’s entourage was removed by security and no arrests have been made as of yet.
Mixed reports say Lynch and members of his entourage rushed past security as a result of something DJ Mustard said about Lynch on a New York radio show. It is currently unknown if any action will be taken against Lynch or his entourage.
This is the latest batch of news to hurt Lynch’s case to be the Seahawks starting running back in 2014 as the team was rumored to be transitioning to a running back-by-committee approach. The emergence of Christine Michael has created a mini controversy in the Seattle backfield as Michael is seen as the future for the Seahawks.
The 28-year-old Lynch is coming off another fantastic year in which he was the workhorse back for a team that wants to establish the run to set up the pass. Michael came on the scene and showed that he has more than earned a bigger role in the offense and will take over Lynch’s role when that time comes.
It is unknown at the moment who was involved in the spat, but Lynch’s name has been thrown around as well as the name of people in his entourage.
