Tampa Bay Rays Rumors: Joe Maddon Uses Seminole Medicine Man to Halt Slump, Fire Sale Coming? [VIDEO]

The Tampa Bay Rays are having a season to forget and have been streaking in the wrong direction lately. The season has been so bad for the Rays that manager Joe Maddon has turned to some alternative methods to break the “curse.” Maddon called in a Seminole medicine man to cleanse Tropicana Field of all the bad vibes of the season.

According to ESPN’s media sources, Maddon called in the medicine man to fix whatever is ailing the Rays.

“Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon invited 77-year-old tribal elder Bobby Henry to Tropicana Field on Monday in an attempt to help his team, which has the worst record in the majors.

"We just turned him loose on the Trop," Maddon said.

Maddon talked about Henry's "supernatural powers," specifically when it comes to making it rain.

"If it rains in the Trop, I'll be really impressed. That will be his best moment ever," he told reporters.

While it didn't rain inside, a heavy downpour began outside Tropicana Field after Henry's visit, which was noted by the team on its Twitter account.”

The Rays current sit 15 games back of the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East with a record of 24-41. The Rays have been the center of many a trade rumors, most of which revolve around ace David Price.

The Rays are not a franchise that packs up and calls it a season in June, but if their fortunes continue to trend downward, you have to think they will have to move some pieces by the trade deadline. The Rays currently sit behind the New York Mets, the Chicago Cubs, and the Houston Astros for worst recond in all of baseball.

When your season is going as bad as Tampa Bay’s, I suppose there are no limits to what methods you can use to get wins.
