Danny Garcia Next Fight: Robert Guerrero Possible After 'Ghost'Father Calls Angel Garcia 'A Punk'? [VIDEO]

Danny Garcia has been out of the headlines since an underwhelming victory over Mauricio Herrera in Puerto Rico, but as usual his father and trainer Angel Garcia is involved in chatter that has the spotlight back on him. In this case though, it doesn't seem as if Angel Garcia initiated the controversy.

After spending more than a year out of the ring following a one-sided loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr., Robert Guerrero is returning to action on June 21 vs. Yoshihiro Kamegai as the headliner of a Showtime triple header. Clearly Guerrero's father is looking past Kemegai though, issuing a strong challenge to Angel Garcia.

"Angel is a punk. He was all over my n**s at Robert's fight. Angel ain't s**t," Ruben Guerrero said. "I'll punk that guy like I did Mayweather. That guy ain't nothing. I already punked him. I'd hurt the poor guy. If he's going to face me he better be ready because I don't tolerate s**t from anyone.

"Angel is nothing, I'm a real guy from the street. I'm from a real town where there are nothing but barrios. I grew up tough, he just acts tough. He's just a guy with a big mouth."

Garcia has openly stated he plans to move up to welterweight very soon, and Guerrero might be the perfect opponent for that jump. He is an action fighter, but not overly big for Garcia. He also has the name value to attract eyeballs. Plus, Ruben Guerrero actually complimented Danny Garcia despite his feelings toward his father.

"Danny Garcia is the kind of fighter who likes to fight," Ruben said. "He always comes to fight and that's the kind of opponents we like. I give him a lot of credit because he always comes to fight. That's a real fighter right there because he likes to stand in front and fight."
