Group A: Brazil (winner), Croatia (runner-up)

Group B: Spain (winner), Chile (runner-up)

Group C: Colombia (winner), Japan (runner-up)

Group D: Italy (winner), Uruguay (runner-up)

Group E: France (winner), Ecuador (runner-up)

Group F: Argentina (winner), Bosnia-Herzegovina (runner-up)

Group G: Germany (winner), Portugal (runner-up)

Group H: Belgium (winner), Russia (runner-up)

The most notable omissions in our group-stage predictions are Mexico, England and Netherlands. The injury to Luis Montes will prove to be a crushing one for El Tri. England have the quality. Unfortunately, Italy and Uruguay have a bit more. The same can be said for Netherlands. A younger Dutch side will have difficulties dealing with the reigning World Cup champions (Spain) and a Chile squad that has been improving under Jorge Sampaoli.

Round of 16

Brazil over Chile

Colombia over Italy

France over Bosnia-Herzegovina

Germany over Russia

Spain over Croatia

Uruguay over Japan

Argentia over Ecuador

Portugal over Belgium

Based on the group-stage winners, the Round of 16 will see just one surprise. Belgium, tipped by many to make a deep run in Brazil, are entering uncharted territory. The team's inexperience will show against a tournament-tested Portugal.

Quarterfinals

Brazil over Colombia

Germany over France

Spain over Uruguay

Argentina over Portugal

The world will come to a complete stand still when Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi meet in Brazil. Ronaldo owned the glory at the club level in 2014. Messi will return the favor internationally.

Semifinals

Brazil over Germany

Argentina over Spain

"Down goes Frazier. Down goes Frazier." The reigning World Cup and European champions will finally see defeat. Brazil, riding the momentous roar of the crowd, dominate Germany.

Final

Argentina over Brazil

In the last two major international tournaments—the 2008 European Cup and 2010 World Cup—the team that has eliminated Portugal has gone on to win it all. That tips Argentina in 2014. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time a South American team beats Brazil on its own soil in the World Cup.
