The French dismantled Switzerland 5-2 in their second match of the 2014 World Cup, getting five goals from five different players in a rout that will advance France to the Knockout Stage. Olivier Giroud got things going at 17', followed by a Blaise Matuidi score a minute later.
France entered halftime up 3-0, and simply continued their onslaught from there. The French appeared to let up a bit, letting the Swiss score two unanswered goals in the waning minutes, but it was far too little too late.
