The Los Angeles Clippers have deemed star forward Blake Griffin as "untouchable," even in a potential deal for four-time league MVP LeBron James.
According to ESPN.com, the Clippers have "strong interest" in making a play for both James and fellow free agent forward Carmelo Anthony, but not at the risk of putting the 25-year-old Griffin on the open market once both stars officially become free agents on July 1.

The website added Clippers president and coach Doc Rivers has directly told Griffin on numerous occasions he will not be made available in any deal the team might seek to engage in.
ESPN previously reported that if James were to leave the Heat and break up the Big 3 of himself, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, his preferred destination would be the Clippers where he would team with close pal and All-Star point guard Chris Paul.

Paul and James reportedly have talked about playing with one another and over the years have grown to be so close they were in each other's weddings and Paul became a godparent to one of James' sons.
James holds Rivers in high regard and is thought to be intrigued by the idea of playing for him.
Paul and Anthony also share a close relationship, and have competed on several international teams together. The league's No. 2 scorer behind league MVP Kevin Durant, Anthony is also rumored to be courted by the Bulls, Rockets, Lakers and Mavericks.
